As
a , We have been working
closely with Red hat, and have been conducting the following training courses
in the region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan,
Indonesia and Pakistan
The introdutory course is for persons
who have never used Linux or UNIX, and who have no prior command-line experience
in any other operating systems, who want to develop both GUI and command
line skills for using and customising their own Red Hat Linux workstation.
The goal of the course is for a Red Hat Linux user who can be productive
in using and customising his or her own Red Hat Linux system for common
command processes and desktop productivity roles.
For users of Linux or UNIX who want
to start building skills in systems administration on Red Hat Linux, to
a level where they can attach and configure a workstation on an existing
network. The goal of the training course is to enable an operator
to perform system administration tasks to a level where he/she can install,
configure, and attach a new Red Hat Linux workstaion to an existing network.
The training course is for Linux or UNIX users who understand the basics
of Red Hat Linux and desire further technical training to start on becoming
a system administration.
For Linux - and/or UNIX - systems
administrators who want to build skills at configuring common network services
and security administration using Red Hat Linux. The goal of the
training is for a system administrator to be able to setup a Red Hat Linux
server and configure common network services and security at a basic level.
The course is suitable for Linux or UNIX system administrators who already
have some realworld experience with Red Hat Linux systems administration
and want a first course in networking services and security.
Each course consists of 4 days of
hands-on training. Emphasis is on actual tasks and processes. Individuals
who already have some experience can enter the skills path at the appropriate
level. Those who already have all the skills covered in these courses should
consider taking the RH300 course or RHCETM exam-only
listed below.
A system administrator who has been
trained and then tested by means of the RHCE Exam, a realistic performance-based
lab exam that tests his/her actual ability to:install and configure Red
Hat Linux; understand limitations of hardware; configure basic networking
and file systems; configure the X Window System; configure basic security,
set up common network (IP) services, carry out basic diagnostics troubleshooting,
and perform essential Red Hat Linux system administration. The RHCE is
for UNIX or Linux system administrators who have significant real-world
experience with UNIX or Linux systems administration and some experience
setting up key networking services such as HTTP, DNS, NIS, DHCP, and who
want a fast-track course to prepare for the RHCE Exam.
The RHCE certificate requires passing
the Certification Lab Exam. The certification Lab Exam will be composed
of three elements: a multiple choice test (1 hour); a server install and
network services configuration lab (2.5 hours). The two performance based
parts of the Lab Exam present realistic problems that require planning,
diagnosis, and development of complete solutions. Fair gaim for the Certification
Lab Exam consists of: the prerequisites for RHCE, plus everything covered
during the four days of RHCE training and lab workshops. The exam is closed
book; no notes.
The exam is pass or non-pass. Individuals
who complete all training elements but do not pass the Exam will receive
a Certificate of Achivement. Individuals who complete all training and
pass the Certification Lab Exam will receive in addition a Red Hat Certified
Engineer certificate.
For Linux-and/or UNIX-systems administrators
who desire intensive hands-on training on configuration and management
of an Apache web server.
Red Hat Linux programming essentials
is an intensive hands-on course designed to rapidly train key skills for
developing applications and programs on Red Hat Linux. This 5-day course
provides hands-on training, concepts, demonstrations, with emphasis on
realistic labs and programming exercises. Upon completion of the course
students will have learned and practiced the enssential skills required
to develop programs for Linux systems.
Red Hat Linux Device Drivers is
designed to teach experienced programmers how to develop device drivers
for Linux systems. Upon completion of the 5-day course, students will understand
the Linux architecture, hardware and memory management, modularisation,
and the layout of the kernel source, and will have practiced key concepts
and skills for development of character, block and network drivers.
Onsite and Custom Training
We recommend on-site training when
a customer has at least 12 employees who fit the prerequisites and audience
profile for a paticular course.
On-site training requires a suitable
training venue. Red Hat recommends one workstation per student, and a maximum
of 16 students.
Red Hat's technical staff will assist
the customer's technical staff prior to arrival on-site to ensure the training
venue is prepared to run Red Hat Linux, Red Hat courses, and/or the RHCETM
Exam.
On-site training includes the following:
Red Hat courseware; Red Hat Linux OS; all student manuals, handouts, documentation,
labs, and supporting documentation; as well as various Red Hat promotional
items.
Custom training: all Red Hat courses
consist of modular instructional units which can be customized and recombined
as required to meet the customer's individual requirements.
